NOSAC

Effects

Levamisol belongs to the group of antihelminthics with a wide spectrum of antinematodic effects. It is efficient in destroying both adult and larvae forms of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematode animals. It acts against parasites by causing first paralysis and then death of the parasites. The effects of levamisol are based upon the stimulation of nicotine cholinergic receptors in the vegetative ganglions along with the inhibition of ATP synthesis. Partly decomposed parasites are being eliminated during the first 24 hours since the beginning of the medicine application.

Indication

The medicine is indicated for the treatment of numerous parasite infections caused by gastrointestinal and respiratory nematode in the organisms of cattle, sheep, goats (Haemonchus spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Nematodirus spp., Bunostomum spp., Chabertia ovina, Strongyloides spp., cooperia spp., Dictiocaulus spp.); infections caused by nematode among swine (Ascaris suum and "Larva migrans", Strongyloides ransomi, Trichuris suis, Oesophagostomum spp., Hyostrongylus rubidus and Metastrongylus spp.); infections caused by nematode among poultry (Ascaridia galli, Ascaridia columbae, Capillaria spp., Haeteracis spp., Amidostomum spp., Syngamus trachea, Cyathostoma spp.).

Poultry primary and secondary infections and those primarily of the respiratory and digestive tract (various bacterial diarrheas, infective synovitis, cholera, hexamitiasis, chronic respiratory organs disease - CRD).

Application and dosage

Cattle, sheep, goats and pigs onetime P.O. average  7,5mg per 1kg body weight
Cattle 5g VETAZOL powder (1 coffee spoon) per 100kg body weight

The preparation is not given to cows during lactation and whose milk is being used for human nutrition; it is also not given to egg-laying hens whose eggs are being used for human nutrition.

Undesired effect

The overdose of the medicine can cause trembling of skeleton musculature with significant tremor of head; it can also cause hyper-salivation, vomiting, coughing, nervous symptoms and abdominal cramps. All these effects are of a temporary character.

Withdrawal period

The meat of the treated cattle, sheep, goats, swine and poultry is not for human nutrition at least 7 days after the last application of the medicine.

Conservation: keep on a cold and dry place

Shelf life: 3 years
